Haubot was founded in 2007 by two men with radically different backgrounds but a shared ambition: to transform the way heavy equipment is bought and sold. In a modest office in the center of Amsterdam, Justen Hazelhekke, a former Caterpillar specialist with deep mechanical and operational expertise, joined forces with Martien Berkhoff, a financial strategist from a prestigious investment firm. Together, they launched what began as a bold experiment — an online auction platform for heavy machinery that would soon disrupt the entire industry.
In the early days, the company was little more than a couple of desks, two laptops, and a vision.
